Are you an Ingredient Snob?
One of the first things you learn, on any type of hair journey is to check the ingredients of your products. Does it have cones ? Does it have sulphates? Does it have alcohol? Does it have petroleum, does it have Blah Blah Blah? It can be very overwhelming, to say the least. What used to be a quick care free trip to buy hair products, turns into a lengthy exercise, consisting of carefully analysing ingredients. I don't know about you, but I couldn't tell what half the ingredients were, and google wasn't much help either, who knew searching for hair products could be so difficult. I wanted to improve the health of my hair, and going for wholly natural products seemed like the way forward. I experimented with oils, made a whipped Shea butter mix, tried a black tea rinse, got banana stuck in my hair from a homemade treatment... you name it. I had this misconception that products with natural ingredients were better for my hair, but it's not necessarily true, I've experienced breakage from products with and without natural ingredients. In no way am I against natural/organic products, personally I'd love to find staples with great ingredients, I'm merely stating that, just because it's natural doesn't mean it's automatically good for you.

Ha I agree :) Not that i do I can barely find products where i live so needless to say i won't be rejecting anything that works in my hair just because its not "natural"

I don't care to read the inredients of my products, but now that I have just learned that I have low porosity hair I have to be aware of certain ingredients. I'm on a quest to find some new products that work for me.
