2 Years Post Relaxer!

I am officially 2 years post relaxer!!!!! 2 whole years since I last relaxed my hair!!! I'm still in a state of shock. I hit the two year mark on monday but I was unable to really appreciate what it meant because I had a 5,000 word paper to write. It has officially sunk in. *happy dance* *moonwalks*

I can't wait to end my transition or maybe I can ? Not really sure. I have quite a lot of relaxed ends left which makes thoughts of ending my transition a wee bit daunting. On the other hand I'd love to style my hair without feeling restricted by my two textures. I'd love to just wear my hair out. I've been wearing buns for literally the whole 2 years. I've missed hair framing my face. I've missed being able to use my hair to cover the cheeky little blemish that occasionally decides to seek refuge on my face. I've missed tucking my hair behind my ear. The little things ay.

I've decided for the chop date to coincide with my last exam at university in about 2months time. That way it can be symbolic. I want to share the experience with you guys so I'll definitely record it. In the mean time here are some pictures I took of my hair today :).

Check out my hair at 1 yr post relaxer to see the progress.

    1. Thanks, congrats on getting to five months. I didn't experience too much breakage. I did notice that hair in my crown broke a little.

      I can offer you suggestions
*Dust/Trim your ends frequently. I've trimmed mine every 8 weeks since the start of my transition.
*Try not to comb your hair too much. Use your fingers when possible.
*Moisturise your hair. Be sure to focus on your new growth.

If you need anymore help, feel free to ask. :)

  5. good work, and great job. i couldnt wait to transition so i big chopped immediatly. i give people the credit who are patient enough to stick it out. But your at a point were u could do a trim of the relaxed ends with no problem. but i feel u should enbrace you natural, waiting could derail the great job ur doing. procrastinating is a sign ofwanting your hair to do what u want and maybe not what is best for your emotionally need to embrace your natural. im all for goals, but if you get weak u might keep putting it off. i get wanting the long hair but while its growing u get the opportunity to know ur curls and what its like to maintain certain styles. but i support ur good work. be naturally confident. happy growth to u.

    1. Yeah, I get what you mean. The length is not important to me, I tuck my relaxed ends away when I style my hair for my hair to look uniform. I have to stand firm and be final in my decision. I will definitely cut when I finish University. I don't have the time to enjoy my hair at the moment.

Thanks for your wise words and thanks for stopping by! :)
