Homemade Avocado Treatment

I'm off from university for a few months so I have a lot of free time to experiment. Today I whipped together a deep conditioner using a ripe avocado from Sunday's dinner and some other household ingredients.

Ingredients
1/2 Ripe Avocado
4 table spoons of Coconut Cream
2 tablespoons EVOO
2 tablespoons of honey
1 drop of Peppermint Oil
1 tablespoon of JCBO
Warm Water

Instructions
Mix the avocado, coconut cream, olive oil and water until you get a paste. Mix with a hand blender until smooth. Add oils, stir and you're good to go.

Verdict: This is the second time that I've made a treatment at home... the first time, I had bits of banana stuck in my hair. This attempt was definitely more successful. I'll definitely be whipping this up again!!!! It gave great slip, good moisture and excellent shine. On the next attempt, I think I may add less oil, my hair was a little oily when it dried.

Do you have any homemade recipes?

  1. Great idea! I remember making an avocado mask for my hair and I had avocado chunks left afterwards lol. It makes a lot of sense to just use a blender. I may try this recipe!
